(IPL) - Permanent Hair Reduction

Permanent Hair Reduction uses a quick, safe and virtually without PAIN Intense Pulsed Light Treatment. It put an end to slow, messy and painful methods of hair removal. Shaving, waxing, tweezing, depilation and smelly hair removal creams have been replaced by hair removal in a FLASH OF LIGHT.

What causes unwanted hair?
Most people seek hair removal for cosmetic reasons simply because they consider hair growth to be excessive in particular places on their body. They may feel unattractive or self-conscious, not to mention the social pressures to have hair free, silky skin. Excessive hair growth from a medical point of view can be attributed to hirsutism, hereditary factors, endocrine system abnormalities, hormonal changes and certain medications and disorders.

How does it work?
IPL uses patented intense light energy to safely and effectively eliminate unwanted hair from all parts of the body. In other words, it is an intense pulsed light source used for long-term hair removal.
When light is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, hair shaft or the bulb, it raises their temperature to a high enough level to destroy the targeted hair structures and stunt hair growth. This unique method of hair removal enables to harness the pulsed light so that it penetrates deeply enough with sufficient energy to destroy the hair follicles without harming the surrounding tissue.

How does IPL remove hair?
High controlled flashes of light are selectively absorbed by hair-filled follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages or destroys the re-growth potential of the follicle. All without damaging the surrounding tissue.

What happens during a treatment?
It begins by shaving away the hair above the skin. A cold gel or a ice pack is place over the treatment area. The IPL hand-piece is then applied to your skin and pulses of light begin disabling your unwanted hair.

Can all hair be treated?
IPL's unique design offers you customized treatment according to your hair color, texture and body location. Any hair with at least some pigment in it (black, brown, red and even blond) can be treated effectively. Note that is does not remove White / Grey hair.

What does treatment feel like? Is it painful?
Treatment is well-tolerated and feels like your finger touching a hot light bulb for a flash. There is so little discomfort that pain medication is generally not even necessary.

Are the results permanent?
This method can achieve a permanent effect. Generally, 5to 8 treatment sessions on one specific area are required for long-lasting results. That's because hair grows in cycles comprised of 3 phases. It's virtually impossible to destroy all the hair during the appropriate stage of the hair growth cycle in one single treatment session. Still, most hair that is destroyed in the growth phase has been reported to stay at bay for as long as one year. Further, hair that may come back is usually finer and lighter, creating a very "normal" and pleasing appearance.

Are there are areas of the body that should not be treated for hair removal?
The beauty of the IPL is that it can eliminate hair from all parts of the body, including the face, neck, arms, legs, chest, back, bikini line, top to bottom and all the way down to the toes. While hair on different parts of the body reside at different depths, the broad spectrum of light enables selection of the wavelength range appropriate for hair follicles residing at various depths on the body. The same principle applies with respect to eliminating hair of all colors and densities.
